Sergio Baietta
Sergio Baietta is a superbly versatile pianist, conductor and composer awarded in 34 national and international competitions. Baietta maintains a balance between engagements as a soloist with orchestras, recital, chamber music and conductor activities collaborating with a wide circle of artists and institutions.
He is especially known thanks to its original and smart piano arrangements where he fuses togheter music of famous soundtracks by J.Williams and F.Chopin togheter with fantasy and very special sense of humor or funny music games like Beethoven's “For Elise Reverse” and others. Thanks to his double talent as a jazz performer as well as a classical artist, he is one of the few Italians pianist who debuted at the legendary Blue Note New York (april 2018) with great success. He performed Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 to a sold out audience at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, in a special celebration commemorating the 45th anniversary of Japan/China diplomacy(november 2017). The concert was with Japan’s oldest and largest symphony orchestra, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Lu Jia, followed by a very successful engagement tour of Japan in Kyoto, Kokura, and Miyako city. After this successful tour he is regularly invited in Japan.Recently he performed at Italian Cultural Center at Tokyo, Suntory Hall Blue Rose, Karuizawa Ohga Hall (2018), Wakayama, Fukui Harmony Hall, Manazuru,Gvuido Studio,Tokai Hall (2019). He played a piano recital for the “World Peace Gathering Event” in the mystical Temple of Koysan Mountain (2019,Osaka) like ambassador of world peace. Commissioned by the chinese director for the “70th Anniversary of Communist China” event, he composed and played his special arrangement of chinese's anthem in front of chinese authority and 1500 guests with critical acclaim (september 2019,Tokyo) He was invited to perform for the Rakuten Cup for the famous world soccer stars of Barcelona and Chelsea team (july 2019). He makes his debut in China, October 2018, where he played and conducted Beethoven Piano concerto No 3 with Beijing Jiaotong University Orchestra.After this succesfull concert he was invited the next year for piano recital and a masterclass. In 2020 he will debut with the “Shenzen Symphony Orchestra” playing the 2°Concert by Shostakovich. He debuted as a soloist with the prestigious “Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico” in Vicenza at the Teatro Municipal, with the “Orchestra Dell'arena di Verona”, “Orchestra City of Chioggia”, “The Benacus Chamber Orchestra”, “Verona’s Academy Orchestra”,”The Zabados Ensemble”,”Orchestra Machiavelli” and “Orchestra Salieri”. Born in Verona, Italy, and graduated at Conservatorium “E. F. Dall’Abaco” in Verona and in Germany at the F. Liszt Hochschule of Weimar where he debuted with notable acclaim performing a series of concerts featuring Liszt in the Furstensaal, the Liszt Museum, the Palais- Saal of Weimar, and Leipzig. He studyed with Kostantin Bogino, Bruno Rigutto, Vittorio Bresciani, Lura Palmieri, Virginio Pavarana, Gerlinde Otto, Jacob Lateiner, Umberto Finazzi. He also performed in concert halls and venues in Verona, Milano, Venice, Florence, Rovereto, Trento, Viareggio, Vicenza, Teramo, Mantova, Brescia, Gorizia, Macerata and Rome; and concert halls in Spain, Portugal, Estonian, Switzerland, Russia, Finland, and Hawaii like soloist,conductor and chamber music. Recently he started performing in a series of Speech Concert Show about the philosophical meaning of music and the parallelism with life and the world of job in Paris,Milan,Macerata,Verona,Cagliari and Firenze. He brought high-quality educational music concerts to Japanese schools organized by the famous Sesame Street Foundation. Baietta has been leading the Orchestra Machiavelli of Verona since 2015, collaborating with the world famous clarinetist, Richard Stoltzman, and marimbist Mika Stolzman, performing Copland's clarinet concerto and premiering Chick Corea's piano concerto No.1 in Italy at the prestigious festival “Settembre dell’Accademia” with great success. He founded the “Verona Piano Trio” with violinist Gu?hnter Sanin and cellist Sara Airoldi (first violin and first cellist of Orchestra Dell’Arena di Verona). As pianist, he took part in the movies “Un amore cosi’ grande” and “MagicArena” Recently, his performance using two pianos for one of the most difficult repertoires of Chopin was introduced on “Classic FM” radio station, and his unusual talent gathered larger attention. Thanks to the many experiences in the world of cabaret and musical comedy, he proposes original solo shows of great impact and variety, including parodies, acrobatic covers, jazz versions of great classics and passionate musical arrangements of various types and inspiration from Baroque to Pop. Baietta debuted as opera conductor of the contemporary opera “Il Carillon” by G.Vesentini at Teatro Filarmonico of Verona with the stage director Katia Ricciarelli. He plays regularly in duo with the famous japanese violinist Mie Kobayashi, winner of the Long- Jacques Thibaud International Violin competition . Inspired by his great passion for the symbolism of Tarot Cards, he created the show "The Sound of Tarot Cards", an original concert with pieces created for each card and “Estemporaneous Musical Reading” for the audience. |
